The book contains24 chapters written by different authors, which give an overview of the reproductivestrategies and behaviors of cetaceans and includes several chapters detailing newresearch on the reproduction of specific species of toothed and baleen whales. In general, the chapters are well written and include interesting newinformation, but I found it long and tedious with repetitive phrases, ideas andconcepts that are inherent to the study of cetaceans, such as they arechallenging to study, they move in three dimensions, etc. The way the book was laidout with each chapter containing an abstract, introduction and conclusion, contributed to the recurring repetition between the chapters.
