The sicklefin smoothhound Mustelus lunulatus is a species registered in the shark catches of commercial importance in Baja California Sur (BCS), there is a lack of biological information on the species in the research area. The objectives of the present study were to provide estimations of the reproductive parameters of sicklefin smoothhound. Sharks were caught by artisanal fishing in Bahía Tortugas, BCS during 2014 to 2017. A total of 105 females and 41 males were analyzed. The sizes of the sharks ranged from 51 to 126 cm of total length (TL), with a sexual ratio of 2.56H:1M. The morphological description of the reproductive organs was made, two stages of maturity for the males and three stages of maturity for the females were determined. A histological description of the reproductive tract was made. The females presented a single functional ovary external type. There was evidence of sperm storage in the baffle and terminal zone of the oviducal gland. The histological analysis of the testes confirmed the diametric type development. Litter size average of 8.26 pups per female was determined and the relationship between litter size and maternal TL was linear. Length at maturity was 85.36 cm TL for females and 76.26 cm TL for males. Length at maternity, estimated for the first time for this species, was 95.73 cm TL. This study contributes with detailed information on the changes in the microscopic morphology of the gonads and the reproduction of M. lunulatus oriented to the fishing management of the species.
