Primer registro en aguas mexicanas de Taractichthys steindachneri (Doderlein) (Pisces: Bramidae)

A description of an adult specimen of Taractichthys steindachneri (Doderlein) captured at La Paz Bay, Baja California Sur, Mexico, on June 19, 1986, is given. Some morphological and meristic data of this specimen are compared with the reported by other authors. This represents the first record of this species from Mexican waters.
