Knowledge about fouling organisms, their degree of fixation and their relationship with the environment, will allow guidelines to be given for the prevention of biofouling that affects recreational and commercial shipping infrastructure. In this work, different aspects of biofouling in the bay of La Paz, B.C.S. Acrylic plate repairs were submerged from January to April and from September to December 2023, in the marinas: La Paz and Costa Baja, and in the bay of La Paz in: El Mogote and Punta Colorada. Encrusting organisms of six different phylum were identified: Chordata (2), Bryozoa (3), Arthropoda (4), Mollusca (1), Cnidaria (Hydrozoa,1) and Annelida (Polychaeta, 2). The coverage rate of microfouling (32 cm2/day) in the marinas was calculated; the biofouling index in La Paz marina showed the highest rate of strongly adhered organisms in the cold period. The relationship with environmental parameters was analyzed using the nonparametric tests of Kruskal-Wallis and Nemenyi (Zar, 2010), showing statistically significant differences with temperature and salinity. It is hoped that the results will allow establishing guidelines for an appropriate management strategy and minimizing the attachment of fouling organisms.
