The Barred sand bass (Paralabrax nebulifer) is fished year-round in the Gulf of Ulloa,Northwest of Mexico, including the season when they form reproductiveaggregations, to protect the resource, a temporary closure would be desirable, but fishers argue that the activity is not disproportionately focused on aggregations, that only two aggregations sites have been confirmed, and that it is necessary toconsider possible differences in the behavior and abundance of the resourcesthroughout the region. This paper analyses fleet dynamics based on vesseloperation data recorded by the Comisión Nacional de Acuacultura y Pesca(2010-2020)and complemented with geo-referenced fishing site from a on-boardobserver program (2014-2018) and size and sex sampling data from Pronatura NoroesteA.C. and the Centro para la Biodiversidad Marina y la Conservación A.C.(2009-2022).
