The mollusk fisheries in the Magdalena Bay region catch species of clams, scallops, oysters,abalones, snails, squid and octopus. The average landings by species-family, based oncatches recorded from 1992 to 2020 in the National Aquaculture and Fisheries Commission,show that Argopecten ventricosus (Pectinidae) represented 51% of the total production,followed by Megapitaria squalida (Veneridae, 16%), Anadara tuberculosa (Arcidae, 12%)and Dosidicus gigas (Ommastrephidae, 10%). Other species include Panopea generosa(Hiatellidae, 3%), Atrina spp (Pinnidae, 2%), Crassostrea spp. (Ostreidae, 2%), Octopusbimaculoides (Octopodidae, 2%), Hexaplex nigritus (Muricidae, 1%) and Haliotis fulgens(Haliotidae, 1%). During the period there were important changes in the species catchcomposition, especially related to the availability of scallops and squid. The first, with lowcatches during 1998-2000 and 2012-2017, and the second, present in the first years butthen disappeared. Both events have been linked to the El Niño phenomenon. Other relevantchanges were the low relative importance of Arcidae during 2002-2010 and the increase ofOctopodidae, Muricidae and Hiatellidae in recent years. Changes in species catchcomposition are analyzed considering the possible effects of climate and fishing.Keywords: Bahía Magdalena, 1992-2020 production, effects of climate and fishing
