Reproductive biology information is necessary to contribute to sustainable management for exploited elasmobranch species. Histology is an important tool for validating the maturity, the minimum and average size of capture, as well as the demography of the species. Mustelus henlei, a placental viviparous shark and Raja velezi an oviparous ray, are commercially targeted on the coasts of the Mexican Pacific. The aim of this study was to compare by morphophysiological analysis the reproductive system of females and males, of M. henlei and R. velezi.
