The Mexican Fisheries Society of and the Mexico Chapter of the American Fisheries Society staged a joint meeting October 18-20, 2017 in the beautiful city of La Paz on the Baja peninsula, Mexico. The theme of the meeting was "The Use and Conservation of Fishery Resources". Hosted by the Centro Interdisciplinario de Ciencias Marinas (CICIMAR) of the Instituto Politécnico Nacional, and co-sponsored by the Instituto Nacional de Pesca y Acuacultura and Centro de Investigaciones Biológicas del Noroeste, S.C.
